The Tulare County Museum is thrilled to announce it will host its Third Annual Main Street Jamboree on March 3, 2018, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. The free, family-friendly event is packed with fun, educational activities for guests of all ages to learn more about the Museum and the Tulare County community.
The First Annual Main Street Jamboree celebrated the restoration and reopening of the Museum’s Main Street gallery, which had been closed for a decade. The event continues each year as a chance for the community to come together and get to know the Museum and its community partners. The theme of this year’s Jamboree is “A Walk Down Memory Lane.” Guests can look forward to experiencing a blacksmith at work in front of a real blacksmith shop from Ducor, a woodworking demonstration, model trains, and a mini car show put on by the Visalia Trailers and Car Club.
In addition to these activities, the Jamboree will host hayrides, an interactive book talk by Mary Weyand about our National Parks, and historical videos come to life from the Tulare County Treasures website in our theater about the county’s rich history. Opportunities to learn about local Native American culture with the Tule River Language Project, interact with local Master Gardeners, watch a local artist at work, and get informed about services provided in Tulare County from places such as the Tulare County Library, the American Legion Post 18, and the Public Defender’s Office will also be available.
Guests won’t want to miss the event’s raffle drawing for exciting prizes donated by local businesses. Raffle tickets will be $5.00 for three tickets. Prizes include a gift card to Fugazzi’s, a “Sweetheart Package” to Creek Side Day Spa, a gift card to Costco, a cheesecake from Tahoe Joe's, and a gift certificate to Clay Café.
Tacos Galacticos will serve delicious tacos at the Jamboree and Tiki Snow will provide snow cones for a small price. The event is perfect for the whole family with so much to see, hear, and do! Join the Jamboree at the Tulare County Museum in Mooney Grove Park, located at 27000 S. Mooney Blvd. in Visalia. Museum entrance is free, though Mooney Grove Park will charge a $6.00 entrance fee per vehicle at the front gate. Seniors enter the Park for free.
